CWCCH is awarded Sichuan Branch of National Clinical Research Center for Obstetrics and Gynecology by Academician Ma Ding of CAE

On December 15, 2023, the awarding ceremony of National Clinical Research Center for Obstetrics and Gynecology (NCRCOG) Sichuan Branch was grandly held in Chengdu Women’s and Children’s Central Hospital (CWCCH).

At the ceremony, Professor Ma Ding, Academician of the CAE and Director of the NCRCOG, awarded the branch center, marking that the disciplinary construction of obstetrics and gynecology in CWCCH has been integrated into the national center innovation network system, and officially entering the ranks of the "national team".

Mr. Wang Shixuan, Executive Director of the NCRCOG, Mr. Yang Xiaotao, Director of Chengdu Municipal Health Commission, Mr. He Xiao, Deputy Director of Chengdu Municipal Health Commission and Dr. Lin Yonghong, Chief Leader of CWCCH, attended the awarding ceremony. Dr. Tang Hongmei, President of CWCCH presided over the event.

At the ceremony, Academician Ma Ding made a brief introduction to the NCRCOG, and expressed his hope to safeguard women’s and children’s health and contribute to the “Healthy China Initiative”, together with colleagues of the branch center.

Mr. Yang Xiaotao, Director of Chengdu Municipal Health Commission, expressed sincere congratulations on the establishment of Sichuan Branch of the NCRCOG as well as heartfelt thanks to Academician Ma Ding and his research team. According to him, it is a milestone breakthrough in the field of obstetrics and gynecology in the province, which will effectively promote the high-level link between the CWCCH and domestic and international medical institutions, and will further promote the medical services of obstetrics and gynecology diseases in the city and even in the region. The Municipal Health and Health Commission will fully support Academician Ma Ding's team and the construction of the branch center, in a bid to bolster the high-quality development of health industry and enhance people's sense of happiness, security and gain.

Prof. Lin Yonghong, Chief Leader of the hospital, said it’s a great honor for the hospital to have a master mentor as Academician Ma Ding and his team in the key stage of high-quality development for the hospital. In the future, the hospital will make full use of the platform of the NCRCOG, optimize the SOP of the diagnosis and treatment of related diseases, improve the abilities of clinical research and basic research, and further promote the promotion and application of scientific research results. This aim is to achieve the strategic goal of “greater maternal and children health, better health industry”, and consolidate its role as the backbone of women’s and children’s health in Chengdu.
